Blackhawks Over Los Angeles is the new Strung Out album and it kicks ass! this is probably my favorite album since The Element Of Sonic Defiance came out. i like all of their stuff, but i would say this album is an improvement over the last few. the recording quality and mastering is excellent as well. dudes, it's Strung Out!

the new The Fall Of Troy is out and is titled Manipulator. overall i would rate it as good, but not as great as Doppelganger. i think it's one of those situations where i'll get into the new album the more i listen to it. in my book, Doppelganger is still the album to beat. if you've never listened to this band before, the new album is probably easier to get into since it is somewhat more structured. enjoy.

well well, the new Haste The Day is ready to drop on march 20th on solid state records. since the last record, the main vocalist (aka: hardcore screamer guy) has since left the band. they got some other dude who just sings (i think) and i assume one of the guitarists is now relegated to screaming duty. i still like Burning Bridges as my favorite album by Haste The Day. the new one sounds pretty good, but it's definitely a more melodic sound. that's not a bad thing, just different for this band. i will be seeing them in concert on march 30th, so we'll see how the new sound holds up.

Ooooh, new Maylene! i agree with tagging this album "southern hardcore", it definitely has a southern feel to it whereas the first album was pretty much hardcore ac/dc. the recording on II is also top notch. i highly recommend immediately listening to both albums by Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. right now.

it seems i have be lax on keeping up with an awesome release for a band i am way into. i first listened to Escape The Fate sometime last summer. it was some mediocre 128k rip of their debut EP. it was very very good. it seems they released a full length album in september of 2006 and i completely missed it. needless to say, the situation has been rectifyed and the album will now be in my rotation. the recording is top notch and after a few listens, the LP is just as good as the EP. it contains 3 songs from the EP and 8 new ones.

i never update this thing anymore, so i'm going to try and at least post a new music recommendation on a weekly basis. first up is The Devil Wears Prada. these guys are a christian metalcore/screamcore band and i am pretty into it. check it out even if it doesn't fit your normal taste.

sorry for the lack of updates, but i've been working on the super secret version three of bdo. i'm on the second design revision, and it is looking much better than my first concept. there will be some very advanced web technologies like a pure css design (no tables), ajax, more dynamic content, etc. it will be awesome once it is implemented. i'll post an update once i have some comps worked up.
i just got back from a kick ass show at soma. the lineup was Thrice, Underoath, The Bled, and Veda. all in all, it was a really good performance by all the bands. Thrice played super tight and played all the good songs plus some of the newer ones (like the prison chant #4 song). some guy puked and i got some splash up on my shoes/pants. that is lame. tell me what features you'd like to see in bdo three.
some really good albums have come out lately, here's what i'm listening to on my 60gb ipod. you know you want one. i have it all lined in direct to my car radio, so the quality is superb. next up is a pair of speakers for the doors to replace my crackling ones.

my friends, leech is back. i now have my new server up to speed for some on the fly zip action and media serving. let me know if you experience any problems.
i'm just about done with my second week of full time work. its going really well so far. our new office is pretty chill as is my lcd monitor, my coworkers, and wearing shorts every day. i've worked on several projects so far, some PHP and some ASP. its kinda funny that i don't even know ASP, but i just completed a project using it. i hope to get a new linux server setup at work because we are 100% windows (with one mac workstation). the windows servers are ok, but i'd much rather just ssh in and do what i need rather than have to deal with the graphical nonsense that is windows server. check out the site below, there are some dope cheat sheets on there. http://ilovejackdaniels.com
last wednesday i finally finished up my classes at UCSD and i'll be graduating tomorrow. let me tell you, it is awesome to be done. i'll be starting work fulltime on monday, so that should keep me busy for the next 40 years or so.
